Sport and Exercise Scientist @ St. Mary’s University, Twickenham

Role in Team LEJOG

Paul will help me understand how my body works from a physiological perspective and advise on how to improve my general fitness.  

This will include occasionally hooking me up to a V02 max machine whilst simultaneously taking blood samples from my ear!

Background

Paul is a BASES accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist and currently leads the sport science consultancy services at St Mary’s University, Twickenham.

In this role he provides sport/ exercise science support to elite and amateur athletes, members of the public, and external organisations.

Paul is a senior lecturer in health and exercise science at St Mary’s University. His research interests include wearable fitness technology and high intensity interval training (HIIT).

He is currently undertaking a PhD within the subject of circadian rhythm misalignment and performance.

Paul frequently advises the media on a range of subjects relating to sport and exercise science and has made several appearances on TV documentaries.
